Ailsa is a Legal Directory Specialist. She joined Kidd Aitken after 12.5 years at the Scottish Parliament, where, as a Senior Researcher, she provided impartial research support to Members of the Scottish Parliament on Local Government Finance.

She became a key figure in the field, working closely with the Scottish Government and others on demystifying this complex subject.

During her time at the Scottish Parliament, Ailsa was also the Office Manager for the Hansard office, and a Clerk to the Equal Opportunities and Economy Committees. In a cross-organisational initiative, Ailsa played a key role in establishing the use of digital consultation tools in the Scottish Parliament.

In her substantive roles she provided clerking and research support on scrutiny of a number of pivotal bills and policy areas. Since joining Kidd Aitken, she has worked with law firms across the world on legal directory submissions.

Ailsa holds a BSc(hons) in Psychology from Anglia Ruskin University, and is a qualified skipper. She is currently based in the Caribbean.
