Following our insightful live Q&A with Chambers Head of UK Solicitors Research Steven Preston and our Director Daniel Kidd, here are three key insights for law firms looking to improve their Chambers UK rankings:
1. A strategic approach is crucial. The Chambers UK rankings process is cumulative, and firms benefit most when they treat it as a multi-year programme. A well thought out strategy with realistic short-mid-long term goals will improve buy-in, clearly establish what you are trying to achieve and, ultimately, lead to better ranking results.
2. Understand Chambers UK practice area definitions. These may differ from your firm’s definition of a practice area so always review them each year to ensure work highlights are relevant and submissions appropriately tailored.
3. Referees play a pivotal role in the Chambers UK rankings process, but their job title or direct involvement in a work highlight is less important than their ability to provide meaningful feedback. Ideally a client referee can speak to the team’s overall performance, as well as individual partners.
